Account Director, Boston, MA

Job Description:

mms values our client partnerships and is committed to building and growing those relationships for the long-term.  We are seeking an Account Director to join our client engagement team and manage a portfolio of existing and new accounts.

The Account Director is the primary contact between mms and a set of clients.  The Account Director is a seasoned client service professional who will work with internal mms cross-discipline stakeholders to ensure that client needs are effectively met through delivery of smart mobile engagement solutions.  Success is measured by client satisfaction, account revenue, account profitability, and business development support that leads to wins.  The ideal candidate is a born leader, excels and building client relationships, is a strategic thinker and mobile expert, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This position is based in Boston, MA; however, we are open to evaluating candidates in other regions. In particular, LA or New York.

Responsibilities:

Act as the day-to-day business interface with client, managing client expectations and project risk from program inception to conclusion

Interface with senior client stakeholders to add strategic value beyond just the day-to-day operational and account activities

Understand mms full product and service portfolio and guide clients in the design of effective mobile programs that meet the client’s strategic business objectives

Work with internal team members on project scoping and pricing; own management of Statement of Work construction and negotiation

Provide direction to mms project managers in driving successful client-focused engagements

Keep an active pulse on the market, communicating external client and evolving market needs to internal stakeholders

Develop and lead delivery of professional presentations to prospects and clients

Be an expert resource to clients and project teams on mobile industry trends and MMS and carrier compliance requirements

Analyze and report on program and project metrics, suggest approaches for program optimization

Work with sales to qualify leads and win new business

Fiscal responsibility:

Build account plans to drive organic growth and execute those plans to achieve company goals

Attain overall revenue targets through a combination of organic growth into existing accounts and support leading to new business wins

Help create and update revenue forecast for your portfolio of accounts to help manage revenue recognition and staffing requirements

Lead the development and management of business contracts, negotiation, MSAs, and SOWs

Serve as a point of accountability for invoicing and collections, partnering with finance and delivery teams

Experience and Required Skills:

10+ years professional experience in an interactive technology or digital agency environment

5+ years mobile industry experience

Experience in CRM or relationship marketing preferred

Experience negotiating program scope, price, and contract terms

Proven ability to develop senior-level client relationships

Success managing long-term multi-phase programs, not just one-off campaigns

Experience performing program analysis and reporting and applying insights to improve results

Ability to function as a mobile solutions expert across audiences (brands, agencies, wireless carriers) and across industry verticals (i.e. CPG, entertainment, pharma, etc)

Experience with multiple mobile non-voice services (SMS, MMS, content, mobile Internet, apps, etc)

Strong leadership and communication skills

Current knowledge of designing effective programs within MMA / carrier guidelines a plus

Hunger to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

Bachelor’s degree required

Ability to travel 30-40%
